Leave a reply area is showing up on pages i dont want it on?

  How do i get “Leave a reply” off my About page and other page i might make in the future but DONT want it on? it even appeared on my contact page so i trashed the page. i’m about ready to give up completely because i can’t seem to figure out how to set the blog up! been working on this for 5 LONG days, no headway!
