Leave a reply box
-
I have two sites – One has a ‘leave a reply’ box on the first page – the other one doesn’t. Why is this and how can I add the box for comments?

Hi,
Can you tell us the site where you see the reply box and the site where you don’t? Thanks.

The site with the reply box is http://www.maggietredwell.wordpress.com and the site without is http://www.waohpavilionroad.wordpress.com. They both use the Reddle theme and I’ve set the first page on both as a static one which is why I would expect them both to show the comment ‘Leave a reply’ box.

Hi,
Please go to https://waohpavilionroad.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page
Click on “Quick Edit” under the About page and make sure the “Allow Comments” option is enabled. Save and check again.
Let me know if it works.

if the post or page has been published you will need to edit the post or page to change the comment status – should be a check box way down at the bottom of the edit page (on the classic editor anyway)

Thanks so much to both of you for replying. I went to quick edit on the About page and there was the ‘Allow comments’ option! I don’t know why I couldn’t find it before! After enabling that – I checked the page and there was the ‘Leave a reply’ box. It was quite simple really wasn’t it – sometimes I feel so stupid!! Thanks again. Have a good day!
