"leave a reply" box not showing properly

Just set up a new blog and I have a problem with the “leave a reply” box as well as the “about me” box not displaying properly at time.
When I type in just the blog address: http://www.shutoutuniversity.com, the content of the post appears as it should but the “About me” box is not displayed at all and the “leave a reply” text box appears as just a link.
However, if you put in the full address including the postname, everything displays as it should: http://shutoutuniversity.com/2014/02/06/what-makes-a-great-goalkeeper/
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Your blog in functioning normally. The front page of the site will only showcase content. To see the whole display click any Post title link. The author profile will appear only on Posts when they are displayed on their own pages.
