'Leave comment" showing on blog rather than open Comment form

Just posted first blog. Think I have all settings correct. The comment form is not actively displaying. Instead “leave comment’ is displayed at the end of the Category and Tags list – but is almost lost in the small print. Comment form opens when “leave comment’ is clicked. But I would like the Comment Form to be displayed automatically at the end of the blog (as is the case with most blogs I have seen) so it is obvious. How do I achieve this please? LensScaper

Collapsed comments on the front page of our blogs as you describe is normal behavior that cannot be changed. In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat, and page loading time is a page ranking factor. Recent studies have only 3-4 seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.Unless you use the P2 theme which is a Twitter-like theme. The front pages of our blogs showcase content and comments are collapsed on that page. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.
If you wish to create a more prominent “leave comment” link you may be able to do that if you have CSS editing experience and purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade. However, CSS cannot be used to expand the comments and have them all display on the front page as that would require editing of the core files to change functionality and we cannot do that.
