Leaving comments on all articles

I have several articles that relate to each other and want to update each in different ways with different information. What I’d like to do is then allow visitors to leave comments on any article they choose, whether it be an older or newer article. If this is possible I’m sure you’ve directed people to the needed information numerous times, so I apologize for being the millionth person asking this same question. Thank you ahead of time for the help!!

I have the comments widget enabled on both my blogs. Also the recent Posts & top posts widgets. So people can quickly see what the previous posts are. But because people are naturally nosy, the comments widget will also get people to see what other people are saying and they might leave comments too. I also reply to most all comments so more will tend to come back and read what everyone else is saying.

Thank you for your help. One last question though. How do I allow visitors to leave comments on old articles as well as recent ones?? Is there a special setting for this??

They can leave comments on any article. You must have shut off comments for older posts. Go to:
Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
Look at your settings and make sure that there is no check next to “Automatically close comments on articles older than ___ days”.
