leaving wordpress and making sure that all my data gets deleted

abandoning wordpress
Tried out WordPress, am not happy with it.
Would like to cancel my account and want to be sure that all my data definitely gets deleted. Neither can I find a way to contact WordPress support directly, nor can I find any unsubscribe option. Can’t believe it. Again: I want my data to be deleted and I expect a (legally valid) confirmation from WordPress. How? (I also find it both ridiculous and telling at the same time that WordPress fakes users to believe that their respective mothertongue can be used, while obviously only English is fully supported)

Provided you are logged in under the username account that registered the blog you can delete it by using these instructions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Please note that deleted blog URLs are not recycled.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Username accounts are not deleted at WordPress.com http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ but please note the following:
1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
http://wordpress.com/#!/following/subsettings/3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:

You must be kidding, don’t you?
You’re really saying that WordPress is a lifetime adventure? I cannot and under no circumstance leave this “club”? I could give up my nationality but cannot abandon WordPress?
You are advising to create an email addy (WOT?) just to get rid of the WP data? Which would mean to give exactly the data you want to get deleted by WP to an email provider and WP STILL wouldn’t confirm that you are not a member/customer/user/whatever any longer? You *must* be kidding, don’t you?
Looks as if WordPress is worse than Google & Facebook combined.
Don’t you think WordPress should clearly inform users about this “policy” latest immediately before/while signing up?
And still no, absolute no way to get in direct contact with WP support/WP.
What a mess. I think I’ll involve a lawyer.

@khfpl but you don’t need to give your info to an email provider. I have never used my real name for email accounts, not ever. And if you have been giving your real name to Google for instance then i think you’ll find that they are more of a problem for you than WP. Google has your footprints, and is never far behind you.

Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled). For more information, please see
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/Here’s a few suggestions for you if you’d like to scrub the account:
1) You can delete your blog following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
2) If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go to http://wordpress.com/#!/read/subsettings/ and click on “Block emails”.
3) You can go to the gear icon on http://wordpress.com or go here: http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/ and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
4) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html5) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:
http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-youYou can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.
