leaving wordpress.com what to do about the domain

    Hi,

I own a domain that I purchased through Name.com. I had it forwarded to the wordpress.com domain I registered but now I feel that I am ready for the next step and actually host it privately.

How do I get my domain to point to my new server?

You reverse the process you used before and point the nameservers to your new host.

Change the name servers at your domain registrar, name.com, to the new name servers at your chosen web host. It will take anywhere from 24-48 hours for the change to be registered with all the internet name servers around the world but in some instances it may take longer. Mine took 72 hours before it settled down and stabilized.

    guys

i have a big problem here

    i had akulelakiitu.wordpress.com, then i subscribe a new domain which is akulelakiitu.net

after that, i did a mapping from akulelakiitu.wordpress to akulelakiitu.net…everything seems to be ok then…

after a month, i create my own web host by using akulelakiitu.net

unfortunately, when i click akulelakiitu.net, it directly goes to akulelkiitu.wordpress eventhough the nameservers already deleted

after a while, i accidentaly delete my wordpress….and now, both blog and web host can’t access either via akulelakiitu.net or akulelakiitu.wordpress

luckily i’ve transferred all posted & comments to my local hardisk

Now, what should i do? where i need to get back my akulelakiitu.net???
i’ve tried to create another database thru Cpanel by using akulelakiitu.net as a domain, but this message still appear..”The authors have deleted this blog. The content is no longer available.”

    pls help me!

Did you change the DNS settings for your domain to point to your new webhosting provider and not WordPress.com?
