Left side menu is collapsed, and it won’t expand

Hi there. The menu on my left side hand has been collapsed for about a year, and no matter how many times i press the arrow to expand it, on which device, it never ever works. I really want the menu to be expanded as it’s difficult to easily see things. I dont understand why pressing it doesn’t expand it? what other issue may it be? thank you
