Left Sidebar not appearing and I can't find HTML issue
-
Hi: I just updated my theme to 2014 and the left sidebar simply won’t appear. :( I’ve tried looking for HTML but I’m not great at that and am not finding any /div issues. Can you please help? It’s across all of my posts on my blog: http://fingerprintfridge.wordpress.com. When I clicked contact support it brought me here. Hopefully someone will just fix it like they indicated would be so in the article I got the link from! hehehe
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

Inactive widgets is not my issue, unfortunately. I actually have no inactive widgets.
The issue is that the 2014 theme is a three column layout and only two columns are where they belong. Widgets have been added to all three sidebars. The left sidebar is showing at the bottom of my front page. This is an XHTML issue according to WordPress support topics.
I previously deleted and re-“installed” all of my widgets in my effort to troubleshoot this problem. But it has not fixed it.

Hi again,
Sidebars and widgets in them do not fall to the bottom and display below posts and/or posts do not appear in sidebars unless
(1) content has been imported into the blog
(2) the blogger has been copying and pasting content from elsewhere, without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
(3) or the blogger has copied and pasted invalid HTML into a text widget or left an HTML tag open
After you go here and enable this > Settings > Writing
Formatting
_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”See here for sorting this out > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

I`m on desktop PC and the sidebar is properly placed for me.
Are you on a mobileTwenty Fourteen is a responsive width theme. Responsive width means the the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles the sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
When you use a responsive width theme you disable the mobile view . Appearance – Mobile

Nope. On my mobile, I still only see the one column, but it’s fine on my PC…NOW! It was even more dumb than that: ZOOM!!! Holy cow I’m a twit sometimes. Thanks for your patience with me. There was a </div> issue on one post where I had been nominated for a fun award and had copied/pasted the game questions. I fixed that and couldn’t figure out what else it would be….Thanks again!

I am having a similar issue with the 2014 theme. If I put a “featured” tag on any article, the left sidebar on the homepage disappears and the text of the blog posts on the homepage run beyond the boundaries of the column. If I have not featured articles, everything looks fine. The issue does not occur if I make the posts “sticky” instead of featured.
How can I fix this issue?
