Legal Hypothetical Question
-
Hello there. I was wandering about a hypothetical here. If I wanted to use my WordPress blog as a place where I create custom posts for individuals who pay me for this service on another site (say Fiverr.com), could I legally do it? Let’s say I created a “gig” at Fiverr.com, and on my Fiverr page I offered to create a customized post for anyone who will pay me the $5 at the Fiverr site, and if someone decided to purchase my service, could I then go ahead and create a custom post for them on my WordPress blog? I’m hoping I can do this.

Hi there – that sort of site would not fit within our Terms of Service, since sponsored posts are not allowed:

You’d be better off with a self-hosted WordPress.org site for that.

Given the going rate for paid blog posts, unless you can guarantee them a minimum amount of genuine organic traffic in excess of 500 uniques, I doubt you’ll find this venture worth undertaking. You’ll get paid more to write posts that people put on their own existing websites.
