Legitimate comment marked not spam, but not held for moderation
-
I just found what looks like a legitimate comment in my Akismet Spam folder, marked it as “not spam”, but rather than being held for moderation, voila, it was approved and now appears as a comment on my blog.
Before I unapprove the comment, I would like to know if this wouldn’t be banishing it to Akismet purgatory forever.
Hoping someone with more experience can answer. TIA

You can delete the comment without marking it as spam. But you can’t un-post it without deleting it as far as I know. Once you’ve marked it Not Spam, it’s considered to have been moderated.

So if I understand correctly from what you’re saying, “Unapprove” and “Delete” under Comments do the same thing?
:/

Ah, good catch. I never review my own decisions, so I don’t think I’d ever noticed “Unapprove”.
