Lending library database

    I am doing a volunteer project whereby a convent has a library of 4,000 plus books and they’ve made a spreadsheet catalogue of all of them. They’d like to display this in a searchable format. Obviously I could upload the XLS, plus a PDF for folks who don’t have excel, and they can download a list, but I’d like to surprise them with a searchable database. Does WordPress have a nice “basic database” plugin? The fields will be basic…author, genre, and a few other generic headings.

    A simple way of embedding your Excel document is by using the Microsoft OneDrive Excel Web App.

    You could also use a third-party plugin to display your data, though please keep in mind that you would need a Business plan or higher to use plugins. If you’re interested in that, you can review plan features and pricing here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    I actually install all my own wordpress installs on my own production server vs. using wordpress.com. I did look into a few plugins but didn’t come to any conclusion. I’ll keep looking though! The OneDrive app you mention sounds neat…
