Letting domain expire, need to remap GoogleAppls emails

Domain expiring, need to remap Google Apps, but don’t see WordPress on Google verify list.

I’m letting the yesoniandj.org domain expire. Currently, I have email addresses associated with that domain on GoogleAppls. Now I’d like to add my WordPress domain (renewschoolfunding.wordpress.com) to Google Apps. The domain verification list in Google Apps doesn’t list WordPress. The alternative method would be to upload an html file — how would I do that?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • You can only used registered domain names with Google Apps.

if you allow yesoniandj.org to expire, you’ll lose any (email visible only to moderators and staff) email address. You cannot setup (email visible only to moderators and staff) addresses.

Ah, I think I see. The wordpress.com address isn’t independently registered, right?

So going forward, the only way for visitors to contact us would be through contact forms on the site and the email addresses associated with our WordPress account administration?

  • We own WordPress.com, and you just had a subdomain here. You don’t actually own the subdomain, so you can’t register it as an email address.

Visitors can contact you at any existing email address you want them to, with either a contact form or an email link.
