Level of Plan
-
Hi,
I’m trying to set up a page and I need to figure out what level of plan I need. I’m an independent contractor (vocal actor/writer/editor). I’m just starting out, so my needs are pretty basic. I need to be able to upload audio clips (5-10), post links to YouTube videos (that can play on the page w/out actually having to store the video on the site), create blog posts, and have a PayPal button/option. Can you help me determine what level of plan I will need?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I need to be able to upload audio clips (5-10)
Uploading audio directly to your site requires any paid plan. Alternatively, you can host your audio on a separate site (eg. Dropbox) and then embed it onto your WordPress.com blog for free.

post links to YouTube videos (that can play on the page w/out actually having to store the video on the site),
All plans (including the Free one) can embed a video on a WordPress.com blog: https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/
create blog posts
Blogging is a fundamental feature on WordPress.com! All plans, including the Free Plan, can do this.
PayPal button/option
You have a few options here. All plans, including the free one, can utilise PayPal and embed a button: https://en.support.wordpress.com/PayPal/
For a more fancy format, you might be interested in Simple Payments, which is exclusive to the Premium and Business Plan: https://en.support.wordpress.com/simple-payments/
Let us know if you have any further questions or issues. :)

Hi there,

Not Dropbox, unfortunately. They’ve made some changes on their end that’s preventing audio files hosted with them from being embedded on other websites like that.
Personal or premium will serve your needs, depending on whether you’re okay using the plain HTML PayPal button or if you want to use the much easier to set up Simple Payments button.
