Libel, Impersonation & Abuse

Hi,
There is a person who’s blog is hosted by WordPress, and they are using it to impersonate me and slander my name. They seem to be writing a book or a blog insinuating I have experiences with prostitutes.The blog is at:
http://dangerousfaces.comThe person who created this website is named Aaron Arnott. You can see this by looking at his Gravatar information: http://en.gravatar.com/dangerousfaces. I currently have a lawsuit pending against this person, so I guess they’re using this as some sort of retaliation. My lawyer has contacted DomainsByProxy to get his registration information, and I’ve filed a ticket with WordPress for abusive content.
Is this something that runs afoul of WordPress’ TOS? Will my report of abusive content be grounds for them to take down the site?
I would rather not have to get my lawyer involved in getting this site taken down.

Why not? If it’s a matter of libel that’s what you pay him for.
The procedure to get a blog looked at for ToS violations is exactly what you’ve done, to file a ticket about Abuse. Now you just wait and see what ruling staff have on this.
A pending lawsuit is not evidence. A lawsuit which found in your favour would be compelling. As it is, all you can do is wait; staff will not respond or discuss the issue in the forums.

I was just wondering if this was grounds for removal by WordPress. I didn’t see anything specific to this case in the ToS. Since my name is unique, this will quickly get to the first page on Google, so the faster it’s taken down the better.

If staff believe it reaches the status of actual libel, they will take it down. If he’s just shit-talking you, or if he’s covered his ass sufficiently by not using your real name or saying it’s a work of fiction or something like that, it’s a judgement call.

Wow this guy has an ego….He is the only guy in the U.S. to use his name. Does he sue at birth, or does he wait till the hit 18?

Wow….he is a nut…he has the guy he named in his comment on a website saying he is with the CIA and other bizarre shit. google it. He has even put “department of justices” logo’s on it this guy is a riot. Has to be innocent he looks gay.
