Libre theme – Featured Images

  I just started using this theme. I added a new post with a featured image. When in the ‘edit’ mode, the image appears. However, on the actual site, whether it is the home page, or the post page, the featured image does not appear.

  Does this theme not support featured images? And, if not, shouldn’t the option to ‘add a featured image’ not be available in the editor?

  If it does support featured images for each post, is there a box I haven’t clicked yet?

  Hello,

  Does this theme not support featured images?

  The theme you’re using (Libre) does not support Featured Images although there’s a Featured Image section when adding/editing a post/page and it let’s you add one.

  And, if not, shouldn’t the option to ‘add a featured image’ not be available in the editor?

  I know, right? You can express this in the Ideas forum.

  Here’s the page to view all themes that support featured images or visit the showcase and click Find a Theme → Features, then check the Featured Images box.

  Thanks for the info. On the plus side, when adding a featured image to the Libre post, even though it does not show up on the blog, the image does appear when the post link is posted on Facebook or Twitter.

  You’re welcome! :) That’s right because the featured image will be recommended first by WordPress.com to Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites when assigning a thumbnail or image to the post when shared on their sites. Therefore it is still an advantage to add a featured image.
