Comments on posts and pages are enabled by default on all WordPress blogs. However, you can enable and disable comments on WordPress.com blogs on this page Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
That is where you set up defaults for comments and other comment options http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Hello, and thanks for your tips :)
What bothers me is that on the homepage, which displays just an excerpt of the post, the “Leave a comment” button is on. I would like to keep this option only on the pages which have full posts.
But I will try your recommendations and see if any of it works.
Have a great day!

Under a Premium Plan or Business Plan, it would be possible to hide that Leave a comment link with some Custom CSS.
If you try it out, this CSS in My Site > Customize > CSS should do the trick:
.blog .entry-meta .comments-link { display: none; }Let me know if you try it, and how it goes!
