  i can’t make changes to my site because its asking for a license for the X theme but I’ve had this these for years.

  Correct account: Yes

  Ya know, I started using wordpress when it was a startup and you could get direct help from a human being. This actually sucks now.

  What is the URL of the site you are trying to work on? We’ll be happy to take a look and see if we can help.

  It sounds to me like perhaps you have a site built with the WordPress open-source software (from WordPress.org) rather than a site hosted here at WordPress.com.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org are related, but separate, entities.

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  In addition, if your theme is asking for a license, you may be better off contacting the theme author’s support team.
