lighten background color in Motion? new to CSS

  Hi there,
  I’ve read the posts on changing theme background color, but is there a way to simply lighten the existing background? I like the blue-green color of the Motion theme, but it’s a tad ominous for my purposes. Any tips are most appreciated.

  Motion uses an image as the background, so you would either have to create a new image, or edit the existing image in a program like photoshop and add an adjustment layer so that you could adjust the overall color or opacity. The other option would be to dump that image altogether and go with just a solid color for the background. Adding a new image, or changing to a solid color can be done at appearance > background in the dashboard.
