Like a Post via Facebook

  Hi everyone,
  I have a question again: what do I have to go so that people can like a post even if they’re not WordPress user but are on Facebook? I saw that it’s possible but don’t know how…

  Go to your dashboard->Settings->Sharing and enable Facebook likes there.

  I’m trying to get the same thing, I think. I want users to be able to share a post on their FB page. I have enabled FB at dashboard->Settings->Sharing, but the buttons are not showing up. Where do the buttons live on the blog page? Why is this not under Widgets I wonder….

  OK, I found the buttons, but they only appear with single posts. The problem is that they’re way down at the bottom. Is there any way to get them into the sidebar (for the whole blog), or even better, with each post?

  Thanks Much, timethief. Those are very helpful indeed. I think I have it figured out.

  Still, I’d like to make the share buttons easier to find. Is there any way to get them into the sidebar (for the whole blog), or even better, at the top of each post?

  The sharing buttons are not for the whole blog. They are post specific ie. they contain the URL of a specific post which a visitor can share by clicking them. They are positoned at the end of the posts because it’s presume3d that we want people to actually read the post and decide if they feel they want to share it before they click any buttons.

  If you want you can capture images of social networking buttons, upload them, link them to your profile pages on various social networking sites and display them in a text widget in your sidebar.
