Like and Repost Blocks Unavailable

The blocks for ‘like’ and ‘repost’ have never been available on my site since I set it up last year. I’ve searched for how to add them multiple times or why they’re missing and can’t find anything. I really want this to end, I don’t understand what’s going on and how something that seems super basic could be missing. My site is not hosted on WordPress.com if that changes anything.

We can’t help as your site isn’t running on the wordpress;com platform. You must head over to wordpress.org and take a look in their documentation.
In WordPress, a “repost block” isn’t a specific pre-built block, but rather a concept that can be achieved through various methods, including using reusable blocks, the Sharing Buttons block, or plugins.

Thanks for replying! I’ve already been looking in documentation and can’t find anything helpful which is why I reached out here.
I don’t really understand what you mean. I have the Gutenberg block editor and use it all the time. Why doesn’t a like block and repost block just get added to the core or something? Why are there lots of official WordPress blocks that are missing by default? It doesn’t make sense to me and the WordPress experience feels fragmented. I joined WordPress last year and it can be very confusing. 😅

Likes can appear on a self-hosted WordPress site via the Jetpack plugin. Keep in mind that Likes can only be clicked by visitors with a WordPress.com account. https://jetpack.com/support/likes/
Repost, or Reblog, is a feature that’s available in the WordPress.com Reader, again, through the Jetpack plugin. https://jetpack.com/support/reader/ I don’t believe that there’s a similar feature built-in to WP core, but for that you’ll need to ask in the ORG forums. https://wordpress.org/support/forum/miscellaneous/

Thanks so much for all the links and info! I know about Jetpack but didn’t realize those blocks were only for WordPress.com account owners. That answers everything I need to know about them. I’ll look more into the WordPress.org forums moving forward.
