  I would like to add a like button to my blog but cannot seem to find where to do it. I am on the free plan. My blog is theoriginalmusenet.wordpress.com

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi! Do you mean the WordPress Like button? By default, this is enabled. You can read about it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#likes-and-your-site

  No, so they can like my blog.

  Your readers can Like your posts, but not your WordPress.com blog. But they can certainly Follow your blog.

  If, by like, you mean that you have a Facebook Page for your blog, and would like your readers to Like that Facebook page, then you can use the Facebook Page Plugin. You can put it in your blog by following the steps here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/#facebook-page-plugin
