like button does not show & size of images on pages

Unless you use the P2 theme, which is a Twitter-like theme, the front pages of our blogs showcase content and comments are collapsed on that page and you cannot change this. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.
In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out.
If you click the Blog Title link or the comment link on any post it will display on its own page and you can see the like button just above the comment box.
If you are having trouble showing the sharing buttons on your blog, please check the following:
I can’t see the buttons on the front page.

Go to > Settings > Media and set desired width numbers for the Large, Medium and Thumbnail options – with zero for heights. (Remember that the width for the Large option should be no more than the maximum displayed image width of the theme you are using.) -
timethief – I realise now I don’t see the like buttons unless I click the Blog Title link or the comment link. Many thanks, sorted.
Re: the images are still a problem. Width and height are all entered in the media section. And I was able to pick any of the three formats until a few weeks ago. Now I can only use thumbnail or large. I like the middle size best. Can’t see what is wrong.
