Like Button "Loading…" but never loads

Readers of my blog have told me the like button isn’t loading on their computers. Cleaning the catch hasn’t worked. I’ve noticed myself that the like button sometimes just says “Loading…” Sometimes I see the button and sometimes I see “Loading…” What’s cause my like button to get stuck on loading and how can I fix it?

Some new developments…. When I am signed into WordPress and am on my blog, I can no longer click on notifications. The stats icon that is usually on the left side next to the follow button is also gone. If I am on another blog or if I am in my dashboard, these things don’t happen. It only happens if I am on my website.

Hi there,

It looks like you’ve routed your domain name servers through a CloudFlare. I have a hunch that this may have something to do with the issue. Can you try changing the name servers back to the following and see if this issue clears up?
```
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
```
Let me know if that clears up the issue on your side!

I made the change. I haven’t seen any immediate effects but will let you know. I noticed this problem only persists in Chrome, though. Can you tell me why it only effected that browser? I didn’t have any problems before with the name servers as I had them, so what changed to cause this?

Actually, the effect does seem to be pretty fast. I just refreshed my site and all those elements are up again in Chrome. I’d still really like to understand why it caused a problem in the first place, though.

The site does seem to be loading better. I’m now seeing the “Like” buttons. Can you confirm everything is working correctly on your side?

As for what causes the issue with Cloudflare and Chrome, I can’t say for sure. Since Cloudflare is a third-party software, we are unable to provide support for it nor do we recommend it for WordPress.com users.

Additionally, the features of their cloud-based infrastructure simply duplicate the infrastructure already being provided to you by WordPress.com, such as:

* CDN’s (Content Delivery Networks) that deliver your site content from the location closest to your visitor
* Caching/optimizing files for faster loading times
* Security measures protecting your site from denial of service attacks and other forms of hacking/malware
* Site stats, including search engine terms and incoming link referrers, that are easier to read than Google Analytics

If there are other features you were interested in using via CloudFlare, besides the ones listed above, can you let me know more about what you’re trying to do? I’ll be happy to help you learn more about the equivalent feature on WordPress.com.
