Like button missing

  My wordpress site bygonebasics.com has a blog that I use to connect to people. I’ve had other WP blogs and they all had it. I searched and found instructions for the Like Button (https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/) but can not find what is described. There is simply no option to either go back and add the like button or to turn it on for new posts. I am using the Avada theme

  I am having the same issue. In fact, the other day it said that two people had “liked” my post, but I can’t find their “likes” anywhere. Nor can I find a “like” button to press myself. It didn’t used to be this way. Please advise.

  I am having issues with ‘like’ buttons too. But i can see the buttons on people’s pages but when i hit the button a separate blank page suddenly appears and disappears. And i see my ‘like’ didn’t work. No matter how much i hit the button the like is not taken! I appreciate your advice. Thanks.

  @vkhanson “Settings” “Sharing” ( you need to scroll down) in wp-admin is where you can enable the WordPress “Like” button to show at the bottom of posts.

  @starsworth if you click on “My Site” top left and then the “Bell” symbol top right you can see if anyone has liked your posts.

  @themagicrobot – This is true, but my issue remains. I already said I could tell that two people liked one of my posts. However, I cannot see their likes, nor see who did the “liking.” Nor can I find a like button below any post of mine on which to place a like. Why is this?

  @starsworth- Give it a try:
  Click on “My Site”
  Click on “Sharing” under configure. A page will appear.
  Then click on the “sharing Button”
  Down on that page you’ll see ‘Edit Sharing Buttons’. Under this section on the right side check the box beside ‘Show Like Button’.

  There is no “Show Like Button” under that section. I followed all instructions as described.
  This is all I get:

  Edit sharing buttonsAdd “More” button

  Button style
  Icon & Text

  Icon Only

  Text Only

  Official Buttons

  Under that section on the right side the option “Show Like Button” should be there. The options you mentioned are shown on the left side under Button Style. And on the right there are options like below-
  Reblog & Like
  Show reblog button
  Show like button

  I hope those are there. Otherwise hopefully a support team staff helps to fix the issue.

  I just went to an older WP blog I originally had…and yep….that one has it exactly as you describe. The one I’m using…does not have that option. Wondering now if it is the theme.
