LIKE button not showing up on wordpress.com blogs

On January 3, every blog that I visited that had a URL ending in wordpress.com would not let me like or comment on it. Such idiosyncracies always indicate that WordPress is doing some sort of upgrade, and this morning I find the new “Insert as plain text” and “Insert from Word” buttons. There you go! The question is, though, Do the powers that be know that many of us cannot comment or like blog posts with URLs ending in wordpress.com?

hey RR! you have a great blog; many people have said that the ‘like’ button wasn’t working on some of my posts as well. i have a new problem that started this weekend; i’m no longer receiving email notifications of new posts, though they do (thankfully) appear in my reader.
it’s hard to know after publishing a new post – if the notices are sent, and if the like/comment functions work. thanks for telling wordpress about the ‘like’ problems! z -
Hey, Z. Email notifications, and even on-blog notifications of comments and new followers also have not been working. I didn’t mention those simply because I don’t rely on them much. But not to be able to comment or like someone else’s posts, like my followers’, is not good.
