like button on blog and tool bar

  Hello there, can someone pls tell me how to get the ‘like’ button on my tool bar? From searching the support pages, it looks like it should be there automatically..

  Although I believe I have set likes up, I can’t actually see a like button on my posts – is that just because I’m viewing it from my own site? Will others see the like button? Supposedly I should be able to do something in ‘screen options’ on right hand side of my dashboard but this doesn’t show anything about likes…

  Hi wonderingsoul25,

  I can see your Like button just fine. It’s just below the social media buttons on your posts.

  Also, I am able to see the Like button on my own blogs, so I’m not sure why you’re not seeing yours. Are you able to see the Like button on other WordPress.com blogs?

  Hi there, thx for getting back to me. No, I just followed someone to see if I could see the like button but still couldn’t. However, I have just followed myself and can now see it when I go in through the subscription email that was sent to me… strange!

  Strange things do seem to happen a lot on my blog!!! It’s also showing that I only have 1 follower, even though I know that 3 friends have followed me – any ideas on that one? May I ask how many followers you see when you view pls?

  Hi again, so it looks like the ‘like’ button is only available when someone clicks into the post itself – if they are viewing it from the ‘read blog’ page where they can scroll down and see all posts on the one page, the ‘like’ button is not there. Do you know how I can add it there also?

  Also, the ‘like’ button only seems to work for other wordpress members as when you press it, it asks for wordpress username and p/w. Is there a separate ‘like’ button for non wordpress users?

  No.Like every other in-house “like” button (Facebook is another example) one has to be a logged in account holder to use the like button.
