LIKE button on WP blogs

  Every time I click the LIKE button on a WP.com blog, it opens a window that is blank (if I’m signed in). If I’m not signed in, it opens a login window. Once I log in, the blank window still comes up and the LIKE doesn’t register. I’ve cleared the cache, cookies, everything and this still happens.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  Thanks for letting us know about this issue. Could you do me a favor, and do a quick test:

  Please log into your account using Google Chrome, and try to like a post. Let me know if you’re having the same result in the new browser.

  Also, when are in Firefox, and you do get the blank screen, if you return to the post, is your Like counted?

  Answers:
  It works in Chrome.
  No, the LIKE isn’t counted.

  Thanks for your help. I really don’t want to switch to Chrome, so I hope you can give me a fix for Firefox. Nothing wrong with Chrome, it’s just slower for me than FF.

  Hey there,

  Ok, well the good news is that we’ve figured out that this is an issue with Firefox. So now, let’s find a fix for the problem, if Firefox allows!

  It’s possible that you have an extension or plugin in Firefox that is blocking this popup. The first thing to try is disabling those add-ons, to see if it has any impact on your ability to Like.

  Here are Firefox’s instructions to take that action:
  https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons

  You can just disable them, for now. No need to remove/uninstall anything for the time being.

  Give that a go, and try to Like again.

  Let me know what happens and we’ll find a solution from there. Thanks much!

  The add-ons I have installed are AdBlock Plus, ColorZilla, Pocket and one that installs with a utility, ASC Surfing Protection.
  I disabled each on individually, cleared the cache, restarted the browser
  and still the same blank screen.
  Disabled all plugins as well.
  Still nothing. I looked at the source for the blank page and there’s a comment about Highlander Nonce update?

  Hi there,

  Can you visit our Third Party Cookies page and check to see what it says under “Checking your browser…” on that page? Third-party cookies keep you logged in to your WordPress.com account, even on sites using a custom domain, so if they aren’t enabled that can cause this problem.

  I think it’s fixed!

  I had 3d party cookies set to Never, so I added an exception for wordpress.com and that did it. I tested it on two of the blogs I follow and it worked. Yea!
