Hi There,
The like button and sharing buttons can be toggled on and off for individual posts & pages. This overrides the global settings through Sharing –> Sharing Buttons.
Head to the Page Settings for this page (to the right of the editor – click the gear wheel to the left of Preview at top right if you don’t see them).
There’s a sharing section there. Check whether ‘Show Like Button’ is checked.
There’s more info in this support article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#turn-likes-onoff-on-specific-posts-or-pages
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your quick response.
There is no Sharing section in the document settings. However, there is a Discussion section where “Allow Comments” can be toggled on or off, but this does not control the Like Button.
Is there anything else that can be tried?

I contacted WordPress Support about the issue and it turned out to be a bug in the product. Support helped to resolve it from the backend.
