"Like" Button
-
Hello!
My issue was unable to be resolved by TimeThief, so I am repost it:
On my blog I’ve made it where the ENTIRE POST is shown on excerpts (so that when they click the “Poetry” category, for example, one can just scroll down and read all the poems…in its entirety).
Is it possible to actually have the “Like” button after these excerpts? That way one doesn’t have to open each individual post to like it….since that would be redundant for many of my posts?
Thanks!
Phoebe

Hello
Please go into your WP-Admin dashboard and confirm one of the sharing settings.
Visit https://phoebemd.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing
Scroll down to the “Show Buttons on” section and check the first option for “Front Pages…”
Let me know if that fixes it for you. I’m using a different theme, but tested the same configuration (excerpts) and it worked for me.
Hope this helps!

Hmm…
I know this isn’t the way you want to go, but I’m curious… if you change the blog display to be Full Post, do the like buttons appear on the archive, category and front pages? I’m trying to determine if it’s an issue with the archive template, or with the excerpts.
Would you mind testing that out and letting me know? (It’s fine to switch it back to excerpts after you test it out)

Yes, set that one to full post, but also double check in the customizer.
Go to Appearance/Customize and then Content Options. Set both to Full Post and see if that turns on the Like Buttons where you want them to appear.

Hmm…well the screenshot I sent was the setting that it was already on, so I wasn’t able to change anything. I went to customizer but couldn’t find the setting for full text vs excerpt…
Do you think there is anything else I could do?
Thanks!

I’m going to tag with this modlook so that one of the staff members can take a look.
I don’t have access to that premium theme, so I’m not sure what else to suggest at this point. Sorry!

Hi there,
Your theme shows the buttons on the Blog page, which for your site is https://phoebemd.com/musings-of-puppydoc-blog/
However, it does not show the buttons on category, tag, or author pages. This might be how the developer designed the theme, but I’ll follow up on that for you in case it’s a bug.
Unrelated, are you aware that your upgrades give you access to live chat support during weekdays and private email support at all time via the contact form at https://wordpress.com/help/contact ? You don’t actually need to post in the forums :)
