like post button is not an option on my wordpress site

Hi there,
I am trying to get a ‘like post’ button on my blog at the bottom of each post, this should easily be done by ticking the box in the sharing category when writing a post, but I do not have this option i only have the ‘show sharing buttons’ tick box. Is this a problem to do with my theme? How can I get this to appear? please helpppp
