Like-Problem
-
Problem #1: Since I’m using the latest Opera browser, I can’t do a “Like” directly on other websites. A window opens and closes again.
Problem #2: The bell icon in the dashboard doesn’t work anymore, I can’t see any messages. The page loads forever, but without success. In the reader view, the bell icon works as it should. In the reader view I can also use “Like” when I press the little star. But then the website only shows the gravatar.
Problem #3: On some WordPress pages I am shown as “not logged in”. I have to click on the WordPress icon if I want to comment, otherwise I will be shown as “Anonymous”.
What I already tried: 1. I did empty the cache of Opera. Without success. 2. installed the previous Opera version, which worked well until the upgrade. There too I now have the same problems as described. 3. using another PC that has a fresh Windows (Version 2004 Build 19041.508) and had never seen an Opera browser before. There are the same problems.
At the Opera-Support there is no hint for changes in the new version. But it is a fact that the browser is currently incompatible with WordPress. At least for me.
Question/s: Can the problems be caused by a new WordPress version? Java-Script is enabled, I doublechecked this already.
Do you have any idea what else I can do besides using another browser?

Hi there,
These issues are caused by the newest version of Opera.
Problems 1 and 3 are the same thing – likes aren’t working because we can’t detect you as logged in. It appears Opera has changed the way they handle login tracking cookies, which means we no longer have a way of detecting that you’re logged into your account when viewing other sites. There’s not really anything we can do about that – for now a login cookie is the only way to detect whether someone is logged into a particular browser, and if the browser is blocking us from detecting that, any feature that depends on login tracking won’t work.
We have a bug report open for the notifications issue. I’ll add your report there. In the meantime, the notifications section should still work if you’re on the My Sites page with the blue admin bar – from our testing and other reports of this issue it appears it’s only the notifications on the black admin bar when you view the site itself that aren’t working.

Thank you very much for your feedback!
Yes, the notification on “My page” works fine. But really only there!
So I am waiting for a fix. Many thanks again!
