'like' widget not functioning from latest Opera
-
I’m making an attempt to switch to Opera for all my browser needs.
tech:
Opera v.44.02, cleared cache, rebooted, vpn off, adblock off
MacBook
So I am visiting blogs I am used to visiting on Firefox, and finding that though I can reply in the comments sections using Opera, I am not able to ‘like’ a blog post. When I click ‘like’, the sign-in-window-contour shows up for a second, then disappears, but my ‘like’ is not added. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have vpn turned off, adblock turned off, I’ve cleared cache, Opera and the computer have been rebooted.
It’s doing this on all of the wordpress blogs I follow.
This is just one of many:

Strange. I was able to like it without any problems. I’ve tagged this for staff attention (notice the modlook tag in the sidebar?), so you should get a staff member to help you with this quite soon.
In the meantime you might see if you can find any worthwhile suggestions in any of these two support articles:

Hi there,
I can also Like in Opera without any problems, so the issue is most likely local to your machine.
Can you please make sure that you have JavaScript enabled:
http://enable-javascript.com/#opera
And also make sure that you’re not blocking third party cookies. This can be found in the Privacy & Security section of Opera Preferences.

OK, so accepting “third party cookies” settled the problem, but I don’t want to be accepting them!
Now in Firefox, my third party cookies are set to accept only those visited, is there any way to do this in Opera? -
You should be able to set an exception to only accept cookies for WordPress.com. In Opera preferences in the Cookies section there’s a Manage Exceptions button. You can add an exception for WordPress.com cookies there. For more help with exactly how that works, you’ll need to contact Opera support.

The other weird thing is that I had hit “Like” on the other person’s post many times, to no avail.
With third party cookies enabled, I didn’t need to even hit like again, as soon as I opened the page, my like materialised in front of my eyes, instantly. -
Not only that, but my icon shows up as older, with many other people’s icon coming in after me.
So the third party cookie handling is weird.
With third party cookies off, I WAS in fact able to “Like”, I was just not being shown that “Like”d.
