In order for visitors (who are not wordpress.com members) to like a post/page they have to have a wordpress.com account? Whenever someone tries to like mine it takes them to a log in page…is this an error or the way the system works?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The WordPress.com like button, like every other in-house use only like button (example: Facebook) can only be used by those who have registered WordPress.com username accounts when they are logged in to WordPress.com.

Likes are not page views. In fact, likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
