"Likes"
-
I understand that time is limited and that some enjoy the use of both Liking a post and liking a post comment. But I took my ‘Like’ option visibility away on my site because I don’t want to have others go to icons that have sites that have less than legal agendas. For example pyramid schemes. Or how to get a hair weave in another country other than the one I am living in.
I get to see most ‘likes’ in my notifications. But please don’t tell me to go to my post to see all the ‘likes’ because you as WP won’t show me one. Why can’t you show them all? I will never know who ‘they’ that you don’t show because I don’t show likes on my posts.
I would like to have the option to delete ‘Likes’ I don’t like.
I would also like to eliminate ‘followers’ who have fallen off the grid.
Or have the ability to accept or deny a follower just because I choose to. I am posting this in the forum because I couldn’t see how to post this question to the Support section.I am not checking the ‘notify me of follow up posts’ but will check when I am able at my convenience. I like a clean ‘in’ email box.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Or have the ability to accept or deny a follower just because I choose to.You are not alone, however, none of those are possible on any WordPress.COM blog. For them you need to hire a web host and set up a WordPress.ORG install. See the comparison here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums.

Thanks, timethief,
It took me a while to figure out WP. I’m not a highly technical person. Not sure if I want to deal with another place or have to go through a web host. But I’ll look into the differences. What I’m doing now works for me.
I’ll just keep the ‘Likes’ out of focus. -

Here is something you may not know about likes. Even if we disable the likes on our posts and pages those with WordPress.com or Gravatar accounts accounts can use the like button on their Admin bar. Also note that your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts and “comment” in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.

Timethief,
Thanks, I did know some of that. Half the time, well more than half I don’t bother with Reader. Once I am in Dashboard I rarely can figure out how to get back to ‘Reader’. At least I thwarted a reblog or back link the other day… I put it in spam. While it still maybe out there in the either it isn’t on the main post of the folks who took it. I think WP did something and all my settings went to default so I had to go back and change that. It would be nice if when WP changes things it would leave our settings alone.
It would be nice if folks asked first – even those we know, even our friends. I know that doesn’t always happen.
Thank you for your help. I had to come looking for your reply since my topic fell off the face of the forum page.
