  People have tried to ‘like’ my blogs and they can’t without creating a domain name, which leads them to setting up an account to set up their own blog. That seems like a lot to ask of people for a simple ‘like.’

  Just like any other place with a like button, for example, Facebook, one has to register a username account, and be logged in to be able to use it.

  Also note that the value of a like button click in no way compares to the value of a thoughtful comment.
