I’m trying to build my website and I’m struggling to allow friends to check my site and click the like button. I can like myself but no one else can. Any clues?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Carole,
Can you tell us what happens when your friends click the Like button?
In order to Like WordPress posts visitors need to have a WordPress.com account and be logged in to it, could it be that they don’t have a WordPress.com account or they haven’t logged in?
Here is a guide to Likes which explains Likes in more detail: https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/.

Hi there,
https://carolecampbell.net/ is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org.
The Like button on your site is a WordPress.com feature added by the Jetpack plugin, and it can only be used by someone who is logged into a WordPress.com username account. If the friends visiting your site don’t have their own WordPress.com accounts, they won’t be able to like your posts using that button.

I’m not sure how I’m using WordPress.org instead of WordPress.com
I’ll turnoff the Like button as the only purpose I had it in the first place was to have friends check out my info and ask for feedback. I got the feedback but it certainly wasn’t through the site.
Thanks for your help.
Carole
