I’m getting one or two email notifications every day from the same person (Ana Miller) who liked a post that was published last week.
Her Gravatar links to this blog:

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Just to reassure you, this doesn’t look suspicious from what I can see.
You may wish to consider switching off likes for this post temporarily. https://wordpress.com/support/likes/#turn-likes-on-off-on-specific-posts-or-pages
I hope this helps.

She liked the post two more times this morning. Don’t you have to unlike before you can like again? If you like once then click the button a second time it removes the like so that you have to click again.
I feel she is clicking, unclicking, and clicking again to get my attention … for whatever reason … maybe to draw traffic to her blog.
That seems like spamming to me.

That is true.
I feel she is clicking, unclicking, and clicking again to get my attention … for whatever reason … maybe to draw traffic to her blog.
That seems like spamming to me.
You would need to reach out to this user to see what could be happening.
Looking at the volume, I’m not sure if this yet falls into the spam bracket.
If it’s a bother, I would recommend disabling likes for that post, even if it’s just on a temporary basis: https://wordpress.com/support/likes/#turn-likes-on-off-on-specific-posts-or-pages
I hope this.

I followed your suggestion to turn off “likes” but she’s still liking the post. How? I don’t know, but I feel as if I’m being stalked by a crazy person.
(The displayed Gravatar in my replies may differ depending on which browser I’m using. I’ve got different blogs logged into different browsers because its the only way to keep them separate. It’s really inconvenient not to be able to manage each blog under the same account because the Gravatar associated with the account will display on all the blogs, but I want them to have their own unique identity relevant to the content.)

When you make a change to whether Likes show or not, this applies to new posts only. In addition, the Like button will still appear in readers’ toolbars and in the WordPress.com Reader feed. It will also show in notification emails if anyone is following your blog via email.
You can see the like button in your site’s Reader feed here:

Some people use likes to promote their website and in those cases if they abuse the feature our automated tools will catch them. In the grand scheme of things, they’re probably clicking like on things they’re interested in or misclicking things if they’re using one of our mobile apps. I wouldn’t look at it as being malicious – you’re probably not the only site they’re liking posts on and they’ll eventually move onto the next thing.
Regarding Gravatar – it’s tied to whatever specific email address you’re using to comment with or you use to manage the site – that’s how it’s designed. It’s meant for your email to have a unified avatar across all platforms across the web.
I hope that clarifies things!
