  Hi,
  For some obscure reason I am no longer able to ‘like’ someone else’s comment on the https://therealslog.com
  I’m asked to login but, it does not produce a ‘like’
  Any ideas?

  Hi there:

  Could you try a different browser than the one you normally use and see if that makes a difference?

  If so, let us know what browser/operating system (and versions of each) you’re using and we’ll be better able to advise.

  Hi,
  I’ve tried with iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro, I mainly use the MacBook, it’s running BigSur 11.6 with Safari browser Version 15.0 (16612.1.29.41.4, 16612)

  Hi Graham,

  I am not seeing anything on this end that should prevent you from being able to like a comment on that page. I was able to like a random comment on the page without issue.

  Just to clarify – at the moment, is it just a particular comment that you are unable to like successfully? Or are you currently unable to like any comments or posts? If the former, please share the link to the comment, and we’d be happy to take a further look for you.

  No, it’s any comment. I log in to comment without a problem but, anybody else’s comments I cannot ‘like’.
  I did wonder if I should delete my account and re-create it but, I might not be able to use the same username and that’s what everybody knows me as, and has done for a decade now!

  Deleting your account definitely won’t fix it, please don’t do that.

  Under Safari > Preferences > Privacy, please uncheck “Prevent cross-site tracking” and see if that corrects the issue.

  Excellent! We’re still working on a good way around this, but the short version is that the cookies for the Like buttons are from WordPress.com, but that site is therealslog.com, so Safari thinks it’s cross-site tracking.

  There are a few ways to correct that, and we’re working on narrowing down the best option. :)
