Likes and comment

Users are unable to like or comment without giving the user details or logging in
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Since the Like button is considered part of WordPress.com’s social network, it does require a WordPress.com account to engage, similar to how a Facebook Like button would require a Facebook account.
-
But then why does it go onto login page once someone tries to like a post. Similarly, comment section requires the user name and URL.
I have already modified the settings under “Discussion” not to ask for user details but still it doesn’t seem to work
Where can I change the settings?

Likes require one to be logged into a WordPress.com account. So if someone who is not logged in tries to Like a post, they will be prompted to first log in before they can like the post.
If a logged-in user is using tracking protection in their browser that prevents us from detecting that they’re logged into a WordPress.com account already, such a person will also be redirected to the login screen.

The discussion settings only determine whether or not those details are required. But it’s not possible to get rid of the boxes asking for that info completely – they are still there, so that people who voluntarily choose to provide that information still have the option.

Thanks. So in short, a non WordPress user cannot like and someone should have knowledge that they need not provide details to comment: sounds strange as people who read my blog were unable to like or comment.
I guess there’s no other option

a non WordPress user cannot like
That is correct.

You can test the comment box on your site accessing your site from an incognito window where you’re not logged into your WordPress.com account and commenting. You should not have any problems doing that, even without filling out the data.
