likes, comments, and subscriptions
-
I have people from all over the world liking, commenting, and subscribing to my blog. Recently someone in the Republic of Korea contacted me saying she is able to comment on my blog (I have seen approved, and replied to these comments), but cannot like a post or subscribe. I have a like button under each post and no one else seems to have a problem. I also have a “Sign Me Up” button on my page with no problems reported there either. Why do you think this particular person is having a problem with subscribing and liking posts. I had no idea what to say other than I would ask WordPress and get back. Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The like button here is the same as every in-house like button, for example Facebook’s. Only logged in WordPress.com members can use the WordPress.com like button. Is this person a logged in WordPress.com member?
-
No, not a WordPress member. Is that the problem? …but anyone can comment? So everyone who has been liking my posts is a WordPress member? Thanks for the quick response!

Not being a WordPress.COM member does not mean she cannot subscribe to your blog by email, or submit comments on your posts. It only means she cannot use the like button.

Thanks timethief. At the risk of sounding dumb, how would she subscribe to my blog by email? She is already commenting.

Thank you so much for your help. I’ve had my WordPress blog since July 2009, and still had no idea how liking, commenting, and following actually worked!
