'Liking' a blog
-
Someone commented to me that the only way they could like or comment on my blog posts was if they entered their email and password – Do you have to have a WordPress account just to like someone’s blog? or can a friend who doesn’t have a WordPress account ‘like’ your blog as well without entering their email and password – and how do I do this in settings?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @mellissalalondeblog, do you mean the like option that will show a box of who liked your post? They do need to be logged in for that. If you share your posts on other platforms, they can use that platform to like the post instead (so they could like the post when you share it on Facebook, for example, assuming they are logged into their Facebook account.)
About comments:
– If they have a WordPress.com account, and they want to comment using their email address, they do need to be logged in. That keeps folks from impersonating them.– If they use an email address that is not associated with an account here, they do not have to log in.
Does that help?
