'Liking' Posts Complications

  • Unknown's avatar

Some of the readers of my blog have reported complications when they try to ‘like’ a post, for example, they have to fill out a form including information such as their name, email address, account, and more. They do not have WordPress accounts.
Is there a setting that will change that? I would like to make it easier for all of them, because they have been complaining a fair amount about it.
    Thank you!

  • Hi there. The Like button is only available for logged in WordPress.com users, thus, if someone does not have a WordPress.com account they’ll be prompted to create one if they try to click that button. http://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/

There’s no way to change that, I’m afraid. I’d suggest you somehow explain to your readers, either via a post or a message in a text widget in the sidebar, that they can only use that button if they’re logged in to WordPress.
