Limit amount of blog post shown when shared to facebook

  Hi,
  Trying to limit the amount of each post that is shown when I share to Facebook. I’m hoping this will encourage people to click through to the post itself.

  Hi there!

  How are you sharing the post? Manually, or do you have sharing set up to automatically post to Facebook?

  Usually Facebook should only share a small picture and a sentence or two of the post. So I just want to get a better picture of what’s going on.

  Auto set up, which I can’t seem to find in settings either. It does show a few sentences, I’d just like a bit less. :)

  Ok!

  Auto for social sharing can be accessed either through the “sharing” page (in lefthand menu from the new view) or under “Settings” –> “Sharing” in classic view.

  To change the text that appears in the Facebook post, include an “excerpt” in your post. The excerpt can be any length you want. Make it one word if you like. The excerpt section is on the left sidebar in the new view or visible in the sidebar for the classic view. If you don’t see the excerpt section select the Screen options tab at the very top right of the page and check that section so it becomes visible.
