limit categories below posts to my site only

I am using the Contempt theme. For the categories under each post, I want them linked as (for example): http://jcuanews.wordpress.com/category/videos/ (this links to posts on my blog only). Instead, they link as http://en.wordpress.com/tag/videos/ (links to the same category in all WP blogs). How can I restrict this to my blog only?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can either use the iNove theme, which has this option, or you can change your privacy settings to Block Search Engines. Otherwise they function in the way you’ve noted: FYI this gives you a huge boost in search engine visibility, for technical reasons. Removing this functionality does keep your readers on your blog more effectively, but it significantly reduces the number of people who will find your blog in the first place.

Raincoaster, thank you for the explanation. Without activating a new theme, is there a way to determine if a theme has the option, as you describe with iNove?

Then, is there another way of organizing your site so that anyone can click on, say, a pictures category, and get a list of all of your posts about pictures? Without using categories or tags? I’m not looking to block search engines, but still want to have more organization on the site.
Are there any other themes besides “iNove” with the option mentioned above? -
Nevermind. I added the “categories” widget and it performs this function for me.

Yes, you’ve got it. The categories and tags that we assign to our posts and which are displayed either above or below the posts all direct to the wordpress.com global tag pages. However, the links to Categories and Tags in our sidebar widgets direct only to content in our own blogs.
