I am trying to set up a blog for my self education. When I clicked the ‘free account’ nothing happened, so I clicked it again. Then i received the following alert…

Limit reached. You can try again in 60 minutes. Trying again before that will only increase the time you have to wait before the ban is lifted. If you think this is in error, contact support.

    Please help.

  • Hi @karamanlakisfotios, 👋

I understand how frustrating it can be to run into an issue like this, especially when you’re excited to get started with your blog for self-education. Let me explain what’s happening and how you can resolve it.

    Why You’re Seeing This Message

The “Limit reached” message appears when multiple attempts are made to create blogs in a short period of time. This system safeguard is in place to prevent spam activity, but it can sometimes mistakenly affect genuine users like yourself.

    What You Can Do

Try Another Device or Network: If the issue persists, try using a different device or network connection to access WordPress.com as if multiple users are creating blogs on the same network / IP address that might also cause this error to.

Wait for the Cooldown Period: The message indicates that trying again within the cooldown period will extend the wait time. Please wait the full 60 minutes before trying again.

    Thanks.
