Limit Search Results

  I was wondering if there is a way to limit search results to just blog posts ie. leave out my static pages?

  I know that there are no options attached to the search widget itself, but was wondering if there is any way to achieve this from within my blog’s settings?

  No. I believe it used to work like that but too many people complained. Some people have WordPress.com sites consisting of one blog page with one measly post and ten or more static pages.

  That’s a shame, but thanks for clearing it up for me raincoaster.

  I don’t know how difficult it would be to do, but if the search function has worked that way in the past, it’s a shame they couldn’t add an ‘Omit Static Pages’ option to the search widget.

  Just out of interest, is there anywhere you can post suggestions to the WP staff?

  Via your Dashboard Support button. There IS an Ideas forum here, but I don’t see it being very successful overall.
