Limit to number posts you can Like?

Is there a limit to the number of posts you can Like in a certain amount of time?
I’ve been liking a ton of posts on my Reader today, and now all of a sudden I can’t Like any more — when I click Like it switches to “Liked” for a second then reverts back to the original “Like” button, meaning that I have not Liked the post.
I’m guessing there’s a limit on how many posts you can Like in a certain period of time. If so, what is it?

There are probably built in programs in any software to detect spammer-like behavior, and doing what you describe ie. clicking the “like” on many blogs is a short time, rather than submitting relevant and meaningful comments on posts, is exactly what spammers do. When I see gravatar images of people doing that kind of strafe-running aimed to draw traffic back to their own sites, I report them to Staff and so do others.
