limitation to 40 invitations for "followers"

    I invite people to join my blog as followers, but the system starts giving an error message after 4 invitations of 10 people each. Does anybody know why and what I can do to overcome this problem that is stopping me from inviting friends?

    Hello Dan,

    It seems that your site is not hosted on WordPress.com but a self-hosted site using the open source WordPress software.

    Name Server 1: ns1.register.it
    Name Server 2: ns2.register.it

    If not mistaken, there’s no limit on adding users to your WordPress.org site. If you’re using any plugin to do that, it’ll be best to contact the plugin developer for help and letting them know the error message you saw.

    For self-hosted WordPress questions, you’re recommended to post them at the WordPress.org forum and seek help from the experts and volunteer members there. You may need to register an account if you don’t already have one.

    Hey there,

    This site is indeed a WordPress.com site. Aside from having our name servers, you can see the admin bar when viewing the site while logged into WordPress.com, Here’s a screenshot: http://prntscr.com/kkzppm

    I invite people to join my blog as followers, but the system starts giving an error message after 4 invitations of 10 people each.

    We have tools in place to prevent spam invites. We don’t reveal exactly how these tools work in order to prevent spammers from figuring out how our prevention tools work and circumventing them.

    Ultimately though, if you’re running into blocks while trying to invite people, you have a few options:

    – Wait a while, then try inviting again
    – Sending e-mails to your friends directly with your site’s URL inviting them to join your site
    – Sharing via other methods (i.e. social media)
