limitayions to media storage

It is a conundrum. We are limited to 3 gigs of media (images). It is a lot. I use tons of images on my science blog. And I am only at 1.5 gigs, so I have a lot of room. But before I understood all of this, I saved in many many copies of the same image. I was new, ignorant, I needed a lesson.

So, now I know better. I go back to my image library which I can search to re-use extant copies rather than saving new copies over and over.

Now, I have so many images that are identical, I would gladly delete all but one of each. But the instructions tell me if I delete an image from the library it will be deleted from every post in which it was used. I have no idea of which copy I picked up for which post. What to do.

If we were told that as long as one of each image we need remains no post will lose its images, then it would be safe for me and other ignorant souls to go through and one by one delete the extra copies.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
